Code of Conduct

Legate Group’s code of conduct is based on the company’s senior management’s own personal principles and values and those expected of organisations that are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Responsible and Accountable

We will be responsible and accountable for our actions or any omissions, as are those we employ or pay to assist in investigations.

Honesty and Integrity

We will always act with honesty and integrity.  We will not knowingly or deliberately compromise our position or that of a client.

Caution and Thoroughness

We will validate the identity of any client and ensure that they have a lawful right to investigate a subject.  We will be thorough in our investigations and report openly to our client.

Conflicts of Interest

We will report all conflicts of interest in any matter that we are involved to our client, so that they may have the opportunity to withdraw our services.

Lawful

All of our investigations will be in full compliance with all the relevant laws, in particular, compliance with the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), when gathering information and intelligence.

Treat Its Customers Fairly

We will treat all of our clients, our client’s customers, our suppliers and any other person that we contact with respect, fairness and courtesy.

Discrimination

We will act with fairness and impartiality.  We will not discriminate against anyone on the grounds of sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, nationality, disability, age or sexual orientation.

Confidentiality

We will treat all information with which we are entrusted during the course of our engagement as confidential and we will not disclose it to any other party unless permission to do so has been obtained from the client or where disclosure is necessary for the performance of the instruction or where we are required to do so by operation of the law.

General Conduct

Legate Group will always act professionally and not in any way that will, or is, likely to bring the name of the company, or that of its clients, into disrepute.
